Ricardo Bauer wins EMX125 in Switzerland, Ernecker retains championship lead

Norman KTM Factory Rookies once again made a strong impression during the second round of the EMX125 Championship in Switzerland. With a convincing victory for Ricardo Bauer and Moritz Ernecker holding on to the red plate, it was an extremely successful weekend for the team.

The team already showed its speed in time practice. Ricardo Bauer set the third fastest time in his group, while Moritz Ernecker topped his group with the fastest lap.

In the first race on Saturday afternoon, Bauer left no doubt about his form. The Austrian took the holeshot and led from start to finish, securing a dominant win.

He also got off to a strong start in the second race, but conditions were very difficult due to the mud. Despite a few mistakes, he managed to finish in second place, which earned him his first overall victory in the EMX125 class. This result also moves him up to second place in the championship standings.

Moritz Ernecker once again delivered a strong and consistent performance. In the first race, he struggled to find his rhythm but still managed to secure second place.

Moritz Ernecker wins first EMX125 race in Andalucía

The Norman KTM Factory Rookies Team has made an excellent start to the 2026 EMX125 season during the opening round in Andalucía, Spain. With an overall victory for Moritz Ernecker and a strong comeback from Ricardo Bauer, the team made a powerful impression.

Both riders competed in the second practice group and immediately impressed on track. Ricardo Bauer set the fastest time, while teammate Moritz Ernecker followed with the second-fastest time, sending a clear message for the rest of the weekend.

In the first moto, Moritz Ernecker took the lead early on. With a strong pace, he managed to build up a gap of around six seconds and then controlled the race to take the win.

Ricardo Bauer had a more difficult start and began the race outside the top ten, but the young Austrian fought his way impressively through the field to finish in fourth place.

In the second moto, Ernecker once again started strong and quickly moved into second place. He launched an attack for the lead but crashed in the process, dropping back to third. This position was still enough to secure the overall victory, so he took no further risks and crossed the finish line in third place. Bauer’s second moto started with a crash in the early stages, forcing him to come back from 35th position. He then delivered an impressive charge through the field, recovering to finish in tenth place.

With a first and third place in the motos, Moritz Ernecker secured the overall win in Andalucía. Teammate Ricardo Bauer finished sixth overall. The championship continues next weekend in Frauenfeld, Switzerland.
